Paul Scholes helped Nicky Butt earlier this season by co-coaching Manchester United’s Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League and he is now back working with the club in an official capacity.
This week, Scholes was in Miami as United’s representative for the announcement of the 2014 International Champions Cup tournament that we will be involved in as part of our pre-season tour of America this summer.
It’s great to see that Scholes is now ready to get back involved with the club in a more serious capacity like this having not coached an Under-19s side since our exit from the UEFA Youth League back at the start of December.
We all know Scholes is a family man but he loves United as well and his trip to Miami shows he certainly wants to still be an active part of the club.
For me, the thought of having Scholes back at Carrington teaching our next generation is the dream and given that he has already done some coaching with the Under-19s as well as his son’s side in Stalybridge Celtic in a managerial crisis, the signs are certainly there that Scholes could return in a full time capacity in the future.
