David Moyes has been given the golden seal of approval

David Beckham believes David Moyes should still have the full support of all Manchester United fans and has placed his faith in him by calling him a great manager who is able to turn the current situation around.

Yesterday, Beckham unveiled plans for his own MLS franchise in Miami and when questioned about the current situation with United, he questioned whether or not United were in a crisis and insisted Moyes was the right man for the job.

“Any season that we’re not on top of the league, is a tough season,” he told ESPN.

“We, as a Manchester United fan and ex-Manchester United player, we’re used to winning championships.

“We’re used to being at the top of the league all the way through the season, so when that doesn’t happen, obviously people think, outside of the club, that there’s a crisis.

“I don’t see it as a crisis. I see it as a transitional period. We win two games, we’re in fifth, fourth place. It’s simple as that, and then things start looking rosy again.”

Beckham still refers to United as ‘we’, he’s still a fan at heart and that comes across. He just wants the club to be successful. United haven’t ever finished outside of the top three in the Premier League era so this is all new territory for us but Beckham is right that a few wins on the trot could see the whole make-up of the season change.

He added: “I think that David David Moyes is a great manager, but it takes time. You know he’s joined a club like Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and there’s a transitional period.

“People talk about it being a tough season. I think the fans believe in Moyes. The fans believe in everything that he believes in. It’s just about winning games.”

Beckham’s voiced support is shared amongst a lot of United fans but Moyes is yet to prove that he is a great manager. We all want him to be a roaring success at Old Trafford just like Beckham does but starting with Fulham on Sunday, United’s season needs to take a sharp upturn for the better if we are to avoid slipping into genuine crisis.
