Cesc Fabregas believes that the likes of Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere are the sorts of players who can help change England’s fortunes on the international scene.
Under Roy Hodgson, Welbeck and Cleverley have both emerged as important players as Danny has found his goalscoring boots for England while Cleverley was one of Hodgson’s regular starters in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
Pending injuries, both players should be on the plane to Brazil in the summer and will likely play an important role for England in the tournament.
“I have seen youngsters like Jack Wilshere, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck play and they have got talent,” he said.
“That’s the thing England have been missing over the years – talent.
“They have got a great group of boys with amazing talent and they have to take advantage of that.”
In reality, England have got no chance of winning the World Cup in Brazil but going in with that lack of expectation could actually help rather than hinder England because whenever a lot is expected of them, England invariably falls flat on their face.
Undoubtedly, the same will happen this year but hopefully Welbeck and Cleverley can use the experience of playing in a World Cup to their advantage.
