Boateng admits Kroos’ contract is a taboo subject in Bayern’s dressing room

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has insisted the topic of Toni Kroos’ contract situation isn’t of any importance to the players in the squad and the conversation isn’t one that comes up only in the dressing room.

The 24-year-old’s contract negotiations have stalled and as there has been no movement yet, speculation has continued to be rife linking him with a move to Manchester United.

This week, Boateng gave an interview with Spox and the most interested question was about Kroos’ contract situation, to which he replied: “No, everyone must decide for themselves.

“We do not talk about it within the team. We understand each other well and want to go all in one direction. Everything else is Toni’s thing.”

Previously this month, Philip Lahm already questioned why Kroos would want to leave Bayern and the Bundesliga.  Given that they won the treble last year, demands for better contracts are unsurprising but right now, there is nothing we can do apart from watch it unfold.

Hopefully Kroos does decide to leave in the summer because if he does, United will be waiting on hand to snap him up and Kroos would be the perfect midfield addition for the club.
