Manchester United’s Nani was in Italy today with ‘one member of his entourage’ which has fuelled speculation that he was there as a preliminary part of a move to Serie A in the summer.
The 27-year-old has only made six appearances in all competitions this season due to severe injury problems for the second year in a row and he is seen as a player who David Moyes could ship out as part of making his own United side, but there is some mystery as to why Nani was in Italy today.
TuttoMercatoWeb believes he was there for sponsorship reasons, Sportevai claim that Nani was there for rehabilitation on his hamstring injury while Canaljuve even said that Nani travelled to get married in Italy (if he has already his fiancee, I was unaware of it and couldn’t find any information about it).
Although it isn’t implausible that Nani met representatives of some clubs linked with him including AC Milan, it is more likely that he was there as part of a program to help him regain full fitness.
Moyes is unlikely to have passed full judgement on Nani simply because he has been injured so much and ahead of the World Cup, Nani will want to regain fitness as soon as possible – so will Moyes.
Nani’s United career isn’t over but it is far from secure and the longer he spends on the sidelines, the more speculation like this will continue.
