Rumours Van Persie admitted he’s happier playing for Holland than Manchester United are false

Rumours about Robin van Persie have surfaced all season about him being unhappy at Manchester United and frustrated at David Moyes’ training methods, neither of which have been substantiated up until this point.

A few hours ago, an article by the Daily Mail claimed that Louis van Gaal said Van Persie was happier playing for Holland than Manchester United, and had the quotes to support their statement.

He said: “I think he should be great in the tournament because he loves to play in the Dutch squad.

‘The football from Man Utd now is for him maybe difficult but then he wishes to show his techniques. Techniques in the Dutch team for him is higher.

“He has shown that all the qualification matches more than ever because he’s our top scorer and I hope he can continue this.”

“It could be that I pick Van Persie, (Arjen) Robben, Rafael van der Vaart, (Wesley) Sneijder. But I could also go for the young guys that I’ve brought into the team over the last two years. We still have two months to see.”

The only thing mentioned here is the fact that Van Persie loves playing for Holland, not that he is happier there than at United. He doesn’t mention anything about preferring to play for Holland.

Undoubtedly, this will be all over the press later today but take it with a pinch of salt. Van Persie hasn’t (publicly) said anything of the sorts.
