Source reveals Moyes has completely lost United’s dressing room and must go

Raphael Honigstein has insisted a source very close to the squad revealed that the situation at Manchester United is far worse behind the scenes than is currently being reported because David Moyes has ‘completely lost the dressing room.’

If there was one thing that Moyes could not afford to happen, it was losing control and power in the dressing room and there are certainly signs that it may well have happened like players speaking out about the team to put further pressure on Moyes.

Speaking to ESPN, Honigstein said: “I spoke to somebody who is very close to the squad after the Olympiacos game expecting him to say ‘don’t worry it is going to be OK’.

“However, he said the situation is a lot worse than it has been reported so far.

“He said ‘he has completely lost the dressing room and has to go now’.

“It is getting very dangerous because if a squad doesn’t like a manager, that is one thing but if they really stop believing in him then it is a serious problem because they will find a way, collectively, to get rid of him.

“Whether it is by not performing or briefing the media which seems to have started, think of Van Persie’s comments, so I think the situation is a lot worse than we actually thought.”

Time is the solution for Moyes in many respects but if he has lost the dressing room, then no amount of time is going to solve that as it would make his position as manager untenable at United.

Cracks are starting to appear all over for Moyes but unfortunately for him, there is going to be no respite in March thanks to home games against both Liverpool and Manchester City.
