Manchester United have had terrible fortune this season with injuries and the latest news that Jonny Evans will be out for a further three weeks is a real blow.
It means Evans will miss the games against Liverpool and Manchester City as well as the return leg of the Champions League which is the most crucial part of the remainder of the season for Manchester United.
If we lose to Liverpool and City and are knocked out of Europe by Olympiacos, United will be in crisis mode.

This season, Evans and Smalling has been our best defensive pairing but they have rarely been fit at the same time.
Phil Jones has also been good when he has been fit and some good news is that he has reportedly returned to training this week so may feature in Evans’ absence.

The worst case scenario for United is that Vidic and Ferdinand are our centre backs against Liverpool and City.
There once was a time when they would be two of the first names on the team sheet but not this season where they are have been more of a liability than reliability. Vidic’s head is halfway to Italy and Ferdinand has pretty much struggled all season. Up against the agility of Liverpool and City, they’d get torn to shreds.
Smalling needs to stay fit to avoid a complete defensive crisis but hopefully Jones will be fit enough to return for the Liverpool game next weekend.
