AS Monaco’s Layvin Kurzawa has encouraged David Moyes to sign him after publicly saying that Manchester United are the club of his dreams.
The 21-year-old left-back has been one of Monaco’s most regular performers this season and only their goalkeeper Danijel Subasic (28) and Ricardo Carvalho (27) have made more appearances than him this season (26).
Signing a new left-back is a priority for Moyes as the pursuits of Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao have shown and Kurzawa is clearly keen to add his name into the mix.
“Manchester United are the club of my dreams, I hope to play there one day.” he said.
An attacking left-back, Kurzawa is excellent at getting forward. He has had a real impact in his 26 appearances having scored five goals and made three assists – only Emmanuel Riviere (9), Falcao (9) and James Rodriguez (6) have scored more goals than him – which is extremely impressive given that he is a left-back by trade.
He has scored some vital goals for Monaco this season including this last minute winner against Reims that gave Monaco a 3-2 victory.
Manchester United signed Patrice Evra from AS Monaco back in 2006 and that worked out pretty well which puts Kurzawa in good stead but with a contract until 2018 with cash rich Monaco, the Under-21 French international would not come cheaply and he is clearly already earning a decent wage as well.
Evra has hinted he could stay on for one more season and if Kurzawa joined, there would be no better mentor for him than Evra at United and given how he has singled out United as his dream club, it makes any negotiation process easier as Moyes would know he wants the move.
