Paris St Germain’s Edison Cavani rules out a move to Manchester United or anywhere else

Edison Cavani has rubbished rumours he is unhappy at Paris St Germain and insisted he feels good about his situation with the French champions.

Rumours surfaced earlier this season about Cavani being discontent at having to play a wider role to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front but those suggestions are wide of the mark according to Cavani.

Much like Robin van Persie did last night by announcing he was happy at Manchester United, the Uruguayan has moved to stop speculation building.

“I do not know what they are talking about and this is not true,” Cavani said.

“The things we talk about in the dressing-room should stay in the dressing-room – I feel good in Paris and at Paris Saint-Germain.”

Cavani, who has scored a combined 18 goals in Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League this season, had been linked with a move to Manchester United this season after Sir Alex reportedly contacted PSG boss Laurent Blanc about his availability but any move for Cavani now looks unlikely.

If Van Persie stays true to his word and pledges his future to Manchester United beyond his current contract, then United wouldn’t be able to accommodate Cavani into the squad because a signing of that stature would need to be played every week.
