David de Gea – Who else?
Rafael – Rafael will be looking for an assured performance before facing a big challenge against Bayern Munich in the week.
Rio Ferdinand – With injuries still causing problems in defence for Manchester United, Ferdinand may earn a second consecutive start if some of his team-mates have not recovered to full fitness.
Phil Jones – Jones performed well in comparison to his team-mates against Manchester City last week and with injuries at the back should be sure of a place in the team against Villa.
Patrice Evra – Suspended for the Bayern Munich game on Tuesday, Evra will undoubtedly be selected against Aston Villa.
Michael Carrick – Despite some indifferent performances this season, David Moyes cannot afford to drop Carrick in the current circumstances.
Darren Fletcher – United’s experienced Scotsman will perhaps be picked ahead of Marouane Fellaini who may be saved for Tuesday night.
Ashley Young – A decent performance against West Ham last weekend may earn Young a start this weekend.
Juan Mata – Being ineligible for the Champions League means Mata is a near certainty to start every Premier League game.
Adnan Januzaj – Recent absence from the starting XI means Januzaj is due a start and this game is more likely than against Bayern Munich in the week.
Wayne Rooney – In the absence of Robin van Persie, Rooney is undroppable.
United’s front three behind Wayne Rooney are set to be completely different on Saturday to next Tuesday’s game.
Moyes will likely want to use Shinji Kagawa and Antonio Valencia in the Champions League meaning they will be on the bench this weekend.
