Shinji Kagawa gives Manchester United fans what they’ve been asking for

Manchester United were pinned back by Bayern Munich in the first half at Old Trafford this week but Shinji Kagawa coming on at half time changed the game completely for us in attack.

His introduction gave United an outlet to bridge the defence and attack. Kagawa created spaces, made intelligent runs and ultimately played a major role in Manchester United’s goal by winning the corner Nemanja Vidic scored from after some neat work near the left touchline.

One thing that Kagawa has lacked in his time at Manchester United is consistency but in the past few performances, we have seen a different side to Kagawa.

Apart from his Manchester City performance, a match in which every single player was diabolical, Kagawa has really found his feet. West Ham, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich were all games in which Kagawa made a difference.

Consistency is what makes a good player great and it was a trait that Kagawa had when he played in the Bundesliga but ever since he arrived at United, he hasn’t been able to replicate that form.

However, he looks to have found some and is in a rich vein of form right now just at the right time going into the return leg against Bayern Munich where he surely must be down as a starter by David Moyes.
