Moyes confirms that Manchester United will sign players before the World Cup if plans are successful

Last summer, Manchester United dithered in the transfer market and were involved in deadline day dramatics which saw us sign Marouane Fellaini at the last minute but David Moyes is keen to avoid the same scenario this year.

Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United’s transfer plans are already well underway and that he intends to sign players before the start of the World Cup if things go to plan.

“I’ve got to say I’m well into my planning with my thoughts and ideas getting ready for next year,” Moyes said according to the Manchester Evening News.

“It will probably be after the end of the season before anything takes place, but we have got to look to do one or two things.

“It’s difficult as players are going to be going away for the World Cup so it’s maybe not quite as easy as ideally all clubs would like to get the work done early. We cannot guarantee it, but will try to make that happen.

“We’re linked with player after player and every time I go to a game, I’m supposed to be signing three or four players from that game.

“That isn’t the case, but everyone is well aware we are looking to make signings and will try to do that whenever the opportunity arises.”

Reports earlier this season suggested Manchester United had already secured two deals that would be announced before the World Cup and by the sounds of it, Moyes does intend to make that happen.

What is also clear is that Moyes has got a blueprint for at least this summer which suggest that he is going nowhere, not for the time being at least.
