by Tom Newbold

David de GeaDe Gea is set to continue as United number one under Ryan Giggs.

Chris Smalling: With Rafael still injured, Smalling will likely play at right-back.

Phil Jones: Will Giggs go with his old teammates or blood younger players? With Nemanja Vidic and probably Rio Ferdinand leaving next season, Jones is prime candidate to start at centre-back.

Jonny Evans: As Evans continues his return from injury, the lifelong United fan can expect an appearance on Saturday.

Patrice Evra: The better and more experienced of United’s two left-backs will probably start against Norwich.

Antonio Valencia: The pacy Ecuadorian could provide United a good outlet on Saturday.

Michael CarrickCarrick remains United’s first choice central midfielder and will most likely be called upon to play in a deep-lying role on against Norwich.

Tom Cleverley: Rumours suggest Cleverley is likely to start on Saturday and his dynamism may well fit in with Giggs’ philosophy.

Adnan Januzaj: Youth, pace and trickery. The young Ryan Giggs will be looking to emulate some of the Welshman’s performances as a youngster under the new manager.

Danny Welbeck: Giggs is likely to select United’s home-grown talent.

Wayne RooneyRooney will be hoping to gather some momentum in terms of form prior to the World Cup.

Formation: 4-4-2

Giggs has stated his teams will play with his philosophy and that philosophy includes pace and wide-play, probably in a 4-4-2.

It will be interesting to see exactly who Giggs selects but expect a line-up full of speed and some youth and heritage from the club too.

Shinji Kagawa and Juan Mata are perhaps the two men most likely to miss out in a Giggs system but that remains to be seen for certain. This fixture will be an indication of what life may be like at Manchester United with the class of ’92 running the show.
