Louis van Gaal will be the manager of Manchester United next season according to reports emanating from Holland but the club has denied that any deal is already in place.
De Telegraaf says that Van Gaal has negotiated the deal with United from Portugal this week and will be bringing in Patrick Kluivert as assistant manager as well as Frans Hoek as goalkeeping coach.
However, a United spokesman has denied any deal. “There is nothing to report,” he said.
“We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it.”
It should be noted that De Telegraaf are a leading Dutch newspaper and wouldn’t report this without an air of confidence.
Van Gaal is now the heavy favourite to become the new Manchester United manager and The Guardian are also reporting that the Dutchman is the leading candidate for the job.
Despite denials from Manchester United, the journalist who wrote the reports for De Telegraaf is adament a deal has been agreed.
