Manchester United want to secure at least two big signings before a new manager comes to Old Trafford, according to ESPN.
Louis van Gaal is looking the most likely candidate to be that manager but these reports suggest Manchester United will secure two signings before he has joined.
Earlier this season, The Guardian’s Daniel Taylor said that Manchester United had two provisional deals in place to bring players in before the World Cup which is supported by these new claims.
ESPN also reports that despite a deal for Luke Shaw is “very close” despite being denied by Southampton, so he would more than likely be one of the players in question.
The other player would surely be Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho who Manchester United have scouted all season long.
It’s a dangerous situation to sign players before a new manager comes in but whoever is going to get the job, you would think that Manchester United discussed these signings and confirmed them with the new manager before anything was agreed and announced. The last thing Manchester United should do is sign players that a new manager may not even want in their team.
