Kagawa’s Dortmund return looks unlikely after agent confirms he’s happy at United

Shinji Kagawa’s agent has rubbished reports that he has been in contact with Napoli’s Rafael Benitez and claimed the Japanese playmaker is happy at Manchester United, pouring cold water on a potential exit.

The 25-year-old endured another frustrating season at United which led to speculation he could move back to Borussia Dortmund this summer but Kagawa’s agent indicates he has no desire to leave the club.

“Has Benitez made contact with Kagawa? These are just rumours,” Thomas Kroth told Ultimecalcionapoli.it.

“He is not unhappy at Manchester United, so there’s no reason to talk about him departing to another club.”

As the season has gone on Kagawa has improved, especially after the arrival of Juan Mata and there were some glimpses of him at his free flowing best.

Obviously, those moments have come far and few between but it’s good news to hear he is happy at Manchester because in a summer where United are going to undergo major changes, the last thing we should be doing is selling our better players before getting rid of some deadwood.
