The Scandinavian supporters club also broke the news last week that United were in talks with the Dutch FA over when the announcement was due to be made.
Andy isn’t one to put his name to anything on the record unless he had a confidence that the information was strong and although the delays of last week were a spanner in the works, everything points towards an announcement this week now that the season is over.
In his article, Mitten said: “Van Gaal has met United’s Ed Woodward on several occasions and United had his contract drawn up 10 days ago. His expected appointment is imminent, but he’s still to finalise who he’ll be working with. Ryan Giggs had a meeting about his future the day after the Hull victory.”
Ryan Giggs also believes the managerial situation will be sorted within the next week so with sources close to the club now going public with their assessment that things are going to be solved soon, it might not be too long before Van Gaal is announced.
Of course, Van Gaal is currently busy with the Holland team who he is getting ready for the World Cup (you can check their odds of winning with Wincomparator) and United fans will be eager to see how he performs in the tournament.
The season is now over and United have already made their first move into the market with a £27 million bid for Luke Shaw so, all things considered, there is a real possibility we’ll have a new manager and players announced before the World Cup begins on 12 June.
