Ryan Giggs believes a player of Adnan Januzaj‘s ilk is somebody who could light up a World Cup stage and feels he is ready to do so.
The 19-year-old has been a revelation this season having broken into the first team and his exciting football is what United fans, and Giggs, loves to see.
Since pledging his allegiance to Belgium, Januzaj could potentially earn himself a spot in their squad for the World Cup this summer and Giggs certainly thinks he deserves one.
“Adnan is the kind of player who could light up a World Cup, whether that is starting games or off the bench,” Giggs said.
“I was excited when he got the ball the other night – when I was on the pitch and on the bench. He floats with the ball effortlessly. He is just one of those players you love watching.”
Giggs’ assessment is absolutely bang on the money – Januzaj is just one of those players who you could watch play football all day long. Like a hot knife through butter, he makes things look easy in much the same fashion as a 19-year-old Giggs did back in his pomp.
Januzaj has already made unbelievable strides in the past 18 months. He has gone from Under-21s football to being a prominent first team player at United and he could now play football on the biggest stage for his country to complete a fairytale start to his football career.
Do you think Januzaj should go to Brazil with the Belgium squad?
