Ryan Giggs will be Louis van Gaal’s assistant manager at Manchester United – report

Ryan Giggs is set to become Louis van Gaal‘s assistant manager at Manchester United, according to De Telegraaf in Holland.

The Dutch newspaper has been at the forefront of this Van Gaal saga right from the start and they suggest that following successful talks in Holland, the decision has been made to give Giggs the job.

As such, Patrick Kluivert would not be coming to Old Trafford as part of Van Gaal’s staff and he would be joined by goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek and video analyst Max Reckers.

Giggs working as Van Gaal’s right-hand man is the ideal situation. It gives United the continuity the board wanted so badly and brings in a manager who has a proven track record of providing results and trophies at top clubs.

However, it would have been a dangerous tactic from United if they told Van Gaal he couldn’t bring Kluivert into the club but that would go some way to explain the delays in a deal being announced.
