Edinson Cavani has confirmed he wants to remain a Paris St Germain player and has no desire to leave this summer.
The 27-year-old has been actively pursued by Manchester United this summer as our officials have already met his agent on more than once occasion, and it looked like Ed Woodward was at least entertaining the idea of making Cavani a marquee signing this summer.
Earlier in May, PSG chief Nasser El-Khelaifi ruled out Cavani’s exit and it seems the Uruguayan has a desire to stay in the French capital, something that will be music to the ears of United fans.
Cavani’s a top class striker but in a summer where United cannot afford any mistakes in the market, making Cavani our marquee signing would be catastrophic as he would cost in excess of £50 million, money that could be better spent elsewhere.
This is not the summer where United can afford to make another luxury signing like Mata which is precisely why it is good news Cavani doesn’t intend to leave.
