Luke Shaw takes a step closer to Manchester United move

Southampton are lining up Swansea City’s Neil Taylor, according to the Daily Mail, in a move that would be indicative of Luke Shaw‘s departure this summer.

With a fee of around £4m being touted for Taylor, Southampton would easily be able to afford him and be left with plenty of change from the reported £27m offer from Manchester United currently on the table.

The 18-year-old has been subject to two bids from United so far and now that Louis van Gaal has been announced, the club will want to push forward with securing transfer targets before the World Cup and Shaw is certainly one of our main targets.

Patrice Evra’s agent has hinted that the Frenchman could stay at Old Trafford but that shouldn’t affect any move for Shaw as Evra would more than likely take up a mentor role to help ease Shaw in at United.

Shaw is currently away with the England squad at a warm weather training camp in Portugal getting prepared for the World Cup in Brazil but with just over three weeks left, expect there to be developments with his move to United very soon.
