Manchester United have agreed a £20m deal for Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos and are eyeing up a move for his team mate Arjen Robben, according to the Daily Mail.
They are reporting the deal was already agreed when David Moyes was in charge and given the go ahead by Louis van Gaal when he became manager.
Although Kroos is entering the last year of his contract, £20m would be a bargain basement fee for a player of his calibre, especially when you consider United paid £27.5m for Marouane Fellaini last summer and previously bought Ashley Young for near enough £20m in the last year of his contract.
At this stage, there are no confirmations either way from United, Kroos or Bayern but it would be a big surprise if they did let him leave for that price.
As for the Robben links, they were inevitable since Van Gaal is our manager but he has just put pen to paper on an improved contract and will be 31 in January, so if we purchased him it would be without a re-sale value which United don’t tend to do too often.
United are going to be linked with every player under the sun that Van Gaal has coached in the past this summer, hopefully we can actually sign some.
