Juventus are still very keen on signing Patrice Evra this summer and want to complete a €2m deal with Manchester United as soon as possible, according to reports.
It has been suggested that Evra, 33, has already agreed personal terms with Juventus and the final word is down to whether United want to let the Frenchman leave.
Next year, Juventus are keen to improve their performances in the Champions League which is why Evra is seen as a potentially important signing but his departure from United would only be plausible if another left-back came in to replace him.
Following the sale of Fabio and Alexander Buttner in the past year, Luke Shaw would be United’s only recognised left-back if Evra left, something Louis van Gaal would no doubt be keen to avoid and in that scenario, targets Danny Blind or Thomas Vermaelen could slot in to cover Shaw.
All things considered, no United fan wants to see Evra leave but if he feels it is the right time to pass the baton to Shaw, then the club may have to let him go and find a replacement.
