Van Gaal changes at Manchester United begin immediately with diggers entering Carrington

by Sam Peoples

Yesterday, Louis van Gaal said he wasn’t happy that the training pitches at Carrington were so exposed to the wind because ‘wind is not a friend of the ball’. Today, diggers have been pictured entering Carrington to begin the process of fixing the problems pointed out by Van Gaal.

The Dutchman is known to be a man of action and this is the perfect example of it as within 24 hours, his plan of action is being implemented.

Carrington’s exposure to wind has long been a gripe of those who watch the academy sides because of how much impact the wind can have on the football that can be played, so Van Gaal identifying the problem immediately is a testament to his attention to detail.

At this stage, it isn’t known what changes Van Gaal intends to make on the training pitches at Carrington because there may be issues with planning permission for any major work but the mere fact that diggers are already in Carrington suggests a plan has already been drawn up.
