Much has been said about the finances involved in Manchester United signing Luke Shaw.
The 18-year-old became one of the most expensive teenagers in history in a deal reported to be worth over £30m including bonuses but if he fulfils his potential, it’ll be worth every penny.
Despite that, plenty are still taking a jibe at the deal and Shaw brilliantly put one in their place today after they made some false claims.
Given that Philip Lahm is one of Bayern Munich’s top earners, Shaw would have to be on a similar wage to that of Robin van Persie at Old Trafford if he were to be earning more than the World Cup winning captain. United might have a substantial amount of cash this year but he’s some way off being one of United’s top earners already.
Shaw has enjoyed a steady start to life with United in his first performances with the club and he’s expected to feature against both Inter Milan and Real Madrid this week in games that will give United fans an opportunity to see Shaw up against some really strong opposition.
