Paul Scholes signs four-year deal with BT Sport and joins ITV

Paul Scholes has signed a deal with BT Sport to become a pundit on their channel for the next four years as well as ITV to join their Champions League coverage.

The announcement all but confirms that Scholes will not be involved in the United coaching set-up next year as he has chosen to go down the punditry path like Gary Neville has.

Last year, Scholes was a guest pundit on Sky Sports and his cut-throat analysis of Arsenal instantly showed his no nonsense or frills style that you expect of him.

Theoretically, Scholes would still have time during the week to be involved with the club in some coaching capacity, like Gary Neville did with England, but it’s highly unlikely he would want to be working so much and BT Sport would have paid him a pretty penny to become a pundit.

The beauty of Scholes’ bullish analysis of Arsenal in his guest appearance on Sky Sports was that it was a surprise, so hopefully he doesn’t lose that lure on BT Sport.
