Manchester United’s game against Inter Milan may have been a goalless affair but from a footballing point of view, United played their best possession so far on tour and some of the passing moves were beautiful to watch.
One move in particular caught the eye. It was 22 moves in total and involved plenty of patient build-up play before exploding down the middle of the pitch with some stunning one-touch passing and Juan Mata‘s final ball almost led to the opening goal as well.
It was liquid, dynamic football and far removed from what fans saw United do last season at Old Trafford.
More than one United player has discussed Van Gaal’s training methods including a lot of work with the ball and this is the culmination of that effort on the training ground.
At times, we made passing look so easy and if that’s the sort of football United are going to be playing in the Premier League next year, then it’s going to be seriously exciting watching them in action.
