United gossip: Hummels deal revived and Italian agent convinced Vidal will leave

by Sam Peoples

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer gossip from around the web including talk of a revived move for Mats Hummels and the latest on Arturo Vidal.

Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels is the No.1 defensive target for a lot of United fans this year and reports now suggest a potential move for the World Cup winning defender is back on the cards.

Earlier this summer, a figure of €20m was being attached to Hummels by some in the press and it was a figure which hugely undervalued how much he was worth as he’d cost more in the region of at least €30m. Even at that price, he’d be a fantastic buy and just the sort of world class addition that United’s defence needs.

Elsewhere, the latest on the Vidal situation is that Italian agent Andrea D’Amico has said he is certain Vidal would leave this Juventus this summer. We took a lot into what current reports said about Vidal’s move and everything is certainly inconclusive at this stage but confident comments like this from D’Amico will help fuel further speculation.

Javier Hernandez’s exit is also up for discussion again and Southampton are the latest name to have been linked with the Mexican after the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan linked themselves to the striker. Southampton wouldn’t stand a chance of signing Hernandez in front of either of those teams. That being said, Atletico’s president ruled the Spanish club out of a move for Hernandez, so maybe Southampton are in with a chance after all.
