Manchester United boosted as Van Persie, Welbeck, Evans, Anderson and Valencia return to first-team training

Manchester United have been boosted by the return to full training of a number of first-team players.

Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck, Jonny Evans, Antonio Valencia and Anderson all took part in training today ahead of United’s trip to Swansea.

Against Swansea last week, United weren’t clinical enough in front of goal as Javier Hernandez struggled alongside Wayne Rooney and the return of Van Persie is a massive boost to the team.

As well as Van Persie, it’s great to see Welbeck back in training as he was impressive on the pre-season tour. Van Gaal will also be happy to see Evans working his way back to match fitness as United lacked a leader in defence against Swansea.

Anderson and Valencia also returned to training. It’s unlikely Anderson will feature much for United next season if he is still at the club but Van Gaal used Valencia a lot on the pre-season tour at right wing-back.
