Manchester United’s James Wilson returns from injury to train with first-team ahead of Sunderland

Manchester United’s young striking sensation James Wilson has returned from injury to train with the first-team this week.

Wilson, who picked up an injury while training ahead of the pre-season friendly against Valencia, missed United Under-21s season opener against Norwich.

However, in the week leading up to that game, Wilson scored an emphatic four goals against Manchester City to win the Manchester Senior Cup and has continued where he left off last season with his prolific goalscoring ability.

Although Wilson, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck have only recently returned to training, along with rumours surrounding Javier Hernandez’s exit, this may be a chance for Wilson to make the match day squad.

With the Under-21s facing Liverpool away on Friday, it remains to be seen if he’ll play for them or if he will be saved for Sunderland.

Louis van Gaal has never been one to hesitate to give a youngster a chance and if Wilson (who has been scoring goals for United at all levels consistently) catches Van Gaal’s eye, then he might even feature in the Capital One Cup match against MK Dons.
