Manchester United signing Radamel Falcao for €65m on four year deal – reports

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United fans were surprised when news broke from France that initial contact with Radamel Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes had been made.

Now, less than 12 hours later, there are claims from a Colombian journalist that Falcao will join United for €65m on a four-year deal.

DirecTV’s Saris Bello is claiming Manchester City have been ruled out of a move for Falcao due to financial fair play and the 28-year-old will join United today.

Here’s what she said:

There’s a few interesting points to note about Saris Bello. She has known Falcao for a long time and refers to him more as a friend than anything (pictured here with Falcao in 2006).

Interestingly enough, Falcao follows her on Twitter and they are personal friends on Facebook, where Saris has also reported the story.

Bello’s tweets have been followed up by another Colombian journalist supporting the claims.

A third journalist has reported the same story.

Andreas Marocco suggests City will still be in for Falcao if they can get Alvaro Negredo off their books.

Could United really be about to spend €65m on Falcao? There is a air of confidence in Saris Bello’s reporting which has been backed up by other influential members of the Colombian press.
