Daley Blind named Eredivisie Footballer of the Year

Manchester United’s new signing Daley Blind has been named Eredivisie Player of the Year after a fantastic campaign with Ajax.

Blind was instrumental for Ajax and helped them to secure their fourth consecutive Eredivisie title in his last season at the club.

The 24-year-old was presented with the trophy by his father Danny at the awards ceremony and Louis van Gaal was also in attendance watching him pick up his award.

Blind enjoyed a fantastic World Cup in the summer under the stewardship of Van Gaal and now he has become the first Dutchman to be signed by him at United.

United fans are really hoping Blind can replicate his excellent form from the World Cup but in his more natural position in defensive midfield.

Blind might not be a blockbuster signing of Angel di Maria or Radamel Falcao’s ilk but he could end up being United’s most important buy this summer.

We’ll be explaining why in another article today so make sure you check it out.
