James Wilson forced to withdraw from England Under-20s due to injury

James Wilson was forced to withdraw from international duty with England’s Under-20s tonight as his injury problems haven’t subsided.

Louis van Gaal confirmed the 18-year-old would not be part of the travelling squad for Burnley due to injury and he was unable to recover in time to play for England’s Under-20s.

Wilson has been very unfortunate with injuries in his young career already. At a very young age, Wilson broke his ankle and was sidelined for five months. More recently, he played through a series of niggling injuries last season.

This year has already seen Wilson suffer a broken finger and he is currently struggling with an injury as well, so all in all Wilson has had rotten luck with a lot of injuries given that he is still only 18.

As Wilson is so young, he can recover quickly from injury but it’s a real worry to see him sidelined so much.

United fans are eager to see Wilson progress into the first-team and as he’d be training with Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, Wilson will be equally as eager and will be hoping to return as soon as possible.
