Marouane Fellaini is closing in on a return to Manchester United’s squad following an injury.
The Belgian hasn’t played so far this season as he has been injured just like so many other United players.
In his and Michael Carrick‘s absence, Darren Fletcher has been asked to marshal the midfield and has unfortunately been unable to keep up with the pace.
Let's go for reeducation. No pain, no gain! See you soon 🙂 pic.twitter.com/uWqaiGPh65

However, Fellaini faces a real challenge to get into United’s first-team this season and there is plenty of reason to suggest he won’t be part of it at all.
A pedestrian midfielder, Fellaini isn’t the quick passing, high energy midfielder who fits Van Gaal’s philosophy, so unless he changes his playing style to suit the Dutchman he could find himself out of the team even when he returns to fitness.
