Ryan Giggs not featured in FIFA for the first time

This year’s edition of FIFA is the first time that Ryan Giggs has not featured in the game and it’s a strange feeling for Manchester United fans.

After 963 games and 168 goals, Giggs hung up his playing boots to become United’s assistant manager under Louis van Gaal but it is still weird to see Giggs in the dugout not wearing his tracksuit ready to come on at any time.

A true United legend, Giggs was there right from the start of the Premier League and played a major role in every single one of United’s 13 title winning campaigns.

The saving grace about Giggs retiring from his playing career is that he is still part of the club in a managerial position and already Van Gaal has admitted he is grooming him to become United’s next manager.

Could Giggs become United’s Pep Guardiola? It was immediately said after he took charge for a few games last season but if he can learn from Van Gaal for the next few years and then take the reins, there’s every chance he could become United’s next great manager.
