Manchester United are planning a double move for Juventus duo Arturo Vidal and Angelo Ogbonna, according to The Express.
All summer long Vidal flirted with a move to United by refusing to categorically rule it out and the Chilean midfielder was considered by many as a top midfield target for Louis van Gaal.
As for Ogbonna, reports back in March that United had scouted the central defender emerged but they went very quiet during the summer.
As it stands, United are certainly going to be active in the next few transfer windows just like they were in the summer.
The current injury crisis has left United cripple defensively and going into the West Ham game last weekend, Louis van Gaal only had one senior centre back fit, so defensive reinforcements are going to be a priority in the next window.
With Vidal, any future interest from United entirely depends on how he plays between now and January.
If the midfielder shows no sign of long term damage after his knee surgery, United could well be interested in bringing him to Old Trafford but if Van Gaal is going to wait to sign a midfielder with injury concerns, AS Roma’s Kevin Strootman is more likely to be who he wants.
