by Sam Peoples

Here is a round up of the latest Manchester United gossip including the latest comments from AS Roma on Kevin Strootman’s future and Arturo Vidal’s comments about speculation linking him with an exit from Juventus.

The transfer window might not be open but there is still plenty of talk going on around Europe. Today, Arturo Vidal has commented on the summer speculation linking him to United and has denied ever hearing of any concrete interest. Louis van Gaal‘s concerns over the Chilean all revolved around the condition of his knee.

Speaking of knees, Roma have said Kevin Strootman is not for sale. If Van Gaal is to try and buy another midfielder, the Dutchman is considered the most likely candidate.

Ian Ladyman is reporting that United are not confident of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo because they fear he is too expensive for his age.

Elsewhere, Sporting Lisbon are claiming they were forced into selling Marcos Rojo to United thanks to external pressure from Doyen Sports who were Rojo’s third party owner at the time.
