Manchester United news: ‘Deal agreed’ for Dani Alves and Van Gaal wants more balance in his team

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer gossip from around the web including claims that Dani Alves has agreed to join United on a free at the end of the season and Louis van Gaal insisting United need to change.

Earlier this year United We Stand editor Andy Mitten revealed Rafael was a player who Van Gaal told he could leave which indicates he may not have been convinced about the Brazilian and the infamous Francois Gallardo, someone who regularly makes bold calls about transfers, insists another Brazilian in Dani Alves has signed a preliminary agreement to join United, as reported by the Daily Express.

A 31-year-old who is past his best joining for extortionate wages and displacing Rafael? It would be a very strange move if it happened. Gallardo’s claims haven’t been substantiated anywhere else at this stage.

A centre-back is the priority in the next window for United and The Mirror reports that £8m rated Galatasaray centre-back Semih Kaya would prefer a move to Old Trafford instead of current La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

As for United, Van Gaal wants his side to be far more balanced than they currently are. In the past few games United have let teams back into it from a comfortable position and the Dutchman wants that to stop.

Elsewhere in the news, The Telegraph says Diego Costa could be ruled out of action for up to three weeks which would rule him out of the game against United. It’d be great news for United if the striker was ruled out because he has been prolific for Chelsea so far this season but even if he wasn’t fully fit, Jose Mourinho would more than likely risk him for a game against United.
