Angel di Maria was once again Manchester United’s most dangerous player but was unable to complete the full 90 minutes.
United’s staff applied an ice pack to Di Maria’s groin straight after the Argentinian was substituted against West Brom and given the amount of travelling he did during his international break, it comes as no surprise.
Di Maria travelled to South East Asia with Argentina and played against Brazil and Hong Kong, so was clearly suffering the effects of a long two weeks away.
That being said, he was still by far and away United’s best player on the night.

Hopefully it was nothing more than a precautionary substitution and he will be fit for Chelsea at the weekend because if you take Di Maria out of the equation, United’s attack doesn’t carry anywhere near the same threat.
