Ander Herrera struggled to make an impact on a tough night for the Spanish midfielder during the club’s 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns last night.
The Spaniard played with protective clothing underneath his shirt in order to help with a fractured rib injury that was originally expected to rule him out for the clash but he was passed fit by United’s medical staff.
It wasn’t an all-encompassing performance from Herrera but it didn’t really come as too much of a surprise given his pre-match injury concerns.
After the Herrera was quick to take to Twitter after the game to express his disappointed at two points being dropped.
We had the ball and we created a lot of chances, but we didn't get the result we wanted. We must keep working !

Herrera fractured a rib against West Ham United three weeks ago, missed the victory against Everton and a call-up to the Spanish national team after an impressive start to his United career had put him in with a chance of making the squad.
The 25-year old was wearing a corset to protect the injury and was fast-tracked back into the team given the lack of game time for Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick‘s injury and a new injury to his stand-in Antonio Valencia.
Herrera looked uncomfortable throughout the game and didn’t look as influential as he has done in several performances this season where he’s chipped in with both goals and assists.
He was brought off at half-time to be replaced by Fellaini who was an instant impact and scored the team’s first equaliser of the night.
The midfielder was also brought off with a knock on his first appearance against Swansea and would miss games against Burnley and Sunderland before returning against QPR. Herrera scored his first goal for the club and assisted Wayne Rooney before adding to his tally at Leicester a week later.
Given the injury Herrera sustained it would be unfair to read too much into tonight’s performance but fans are now going to be concerned he won’t be passed fit for the game against Chelsea on Sunday.
