Anders Lindegaard defends Marouane Fellaini after West Brom abuse

Anders Lindegaard has reacted angrily to a tweet from West Brom’s official Twitter account after they took a dig at Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgian midfielder came on at half-time against West Brom and swiftly made a difference in the game with his first goal from Manchester United.

To be fair to Fellaini, it was a fantastic goal. He expertly took down the ball on his chest, lost the defender with his touch and fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

The goal left West Brom’s Twitter account with egg on their face and Lindegaard accused them of showing a complete lack of respect by sending the message out.

Plenty of fans, myself included, jokingly mocked Fellaini when his number was held up by the fourth official but he emphatically responded with what was his best performance in a United shirt. Hopefully it wasn’t a one off.
