Here is the latest Manchester United news and gossip from around the web including reports the Spanish press that Victor Valdes has passed his medical examination at Carrington and that United sent scouts to watch Ezequiel Garay in action.

Victor Valdes may well have already passed his medical examination at Manchester United which would leave him free to join up with the first-team squad next week to train. Yesterday, Valdes was spotted in Manchester so he is certainly already in the city and he’d need to complete one by Monday if he was to join up with the squad straight away.

The story of Ezequiel Garay and United dates back to 2012 when the Argentine was first linked with a move to Old Trafford. At one stage, reports even suggested a deal had been agreed for him to join but they proved to be unsubstantiated. Now, The Mirror has rekindled the rumours despite the fact he only joined Zenit St. Petersburg in the summer.

Louis van Gaal has publicly backed Van Persie to re-find his form and is completely confident the striker will do precisely that, no matter how long it takes. In his first season with United, Van Persie had a ten game spell in which he didn’t score but returned with interest when he found the net again. Van Gaal is hoping he can have a watershed moment like that again soon.
