Radamel Falcao and Phil Jones have both suffered new injuries and are ruled out of Manchester United’s game against Chelsea today.
Louis van Gaal confirmed the news to reporters at Old Trafford this afternoon and it’s yet another injury setback for a squad which has been ravaged by injuries all season.
“Falcao is injured and so is Jones,” Van Gaal said.
“That is a pity because you need the big players.”
Falcao suffered a kick in training and the extent of his injury is currently unknown but it’s bad news for the Colombian as he has struggled with his fitness so far at United.
As for Jones, he had only just returned from a previous injury so it’s becoming quite ridiculous just how many times he has been sidelined at United.
Jones has turned his enthusiasm into a hindrance more than an asset because he goes into every single tackle with 100% commitment and suffers so many injuries as a consequence. It wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to find out Jones was the one who injured Falcao and injured himself in the process
