Marcos Rojo faces his toughest task so far in a Manchester United shirt today when he squares up against compatriot Sergio Aguero.
The striker is currently bang in form with 11 goals in 13 appearances and Rojo will have a hard time keeping him quiet but it is precisely the sort of game Rojo will have been waiting for, one that can be a springboard for his United career.
Rojo knows how dangerous Aguero is going to be and has every intention of making it a physically tough encounter for the diminutive striker.
“Obviously we are going to have to stay very focused,” said Rojo.
“You have to stick close to him, that’s for sure. Be very attentive. Certainly in the penalty area he is a very quick mover and gets into position very quickly. He can be controlled but it is up to us to keep an eye on where he is at all times and get into him with a degree of firmness.
“It will be a hard game and you have to play in a hard way. I don’t mean go crunching in but a tough game, [play] the way he does. You have to play with close marking and strong tackles.”
Rojo will need to have his performance at centre-back in a United shirt to keep Aguero quiet and he’ll need to make sure he quashes the threat of the City man, otherwise David de Gea is going to have a very busy day in goal.
