Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: Potential 4-3-3 – Rooney in, Falcao injured

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United might have lost the derby last weekend but they earned plenty of plaudits for their gritty performance with ten men up against City.

With that in mind, Louis van Gaal may want to stick with the same formation and line-up he used against City.

The 4-3-3 formation is traditionally Van Gaal’s formation and he has certainly started to use it more in recent games.

Up against City, Wayne Rooney dropped into a deeper midfield role as part of a three with Marouane Fellaini and Daley Blind, but for Crystal Palace this weekend we think Ander Herrera is coming back.

In defence there is a shake-up. Michael Carrick has been included instead of Paddy McNair with Tyler Blackett coming back into the team.

In attack, Robin van Persie keeps his place and is once again flanked by Angel di Maria and Adnan Januzaj.
