Daley Blind is set to undergo scans on his knee injury today to find out the true extent of the damage to his knee.
The midfielder suffered a suspected medial ligament tear in Holland’s game against Latvia yesterday and although initial reports indicate he could spend four to six weeks out of action, there is no official confirmation.
Depending on the severity of the injury, Blind could be out for anything from two weeks to two months, so Manchester United fans are hoping the news is as good as can be.
Speaking about his injury, Blind said: “It contains a lot of fluid at the moment. We’ll do further research on Monday.”
Although there is no confirmation as to the extent of Blind’s injury, he is very unlikely to play against Arsenal this weekend and with Michael Carrick also out injured, it leaves United with a desperate lack of defensive minded midfielders.
Blind has been United’s best signing this season so his absence from an already depleted team is the last thing United needed right now but it is typical of the season United have had so far with injuries.
