Angel di Maria has been sent for an X-ray on his foot after he was on the wrong end of a bad tackle from Nani.
The Argentinian winger went down in pain but was able to continue after some treatment on the pitch.
However, Argentina boss Gerardo Martino has confirmed Di Maria will have a scan to determine his problems.
“We don’t think it is anything serious,” Martino said.
“It was quite a tough blow he took. It was a tough knock. It cut the skin a little bit,” said the Argentine coach.
“But we have had a look at it and we are evaluating the situation.
“We are having a look at some X-rays, some images that have been taken which have been taken but in spite of that we don’t think it is too serious.”
Ahead of the Arsenal game this weekend, another injury scare to a first team player is the last thing Louis van Gaal would have wanted to see and there will now be a nervous wait for the results of Di Maria’s scan to see if he is to play at the Emirates.
