Nani has remained coy over a potential return to Manchester United and made sure to leave the door firmly open.
The Portuguese winger, currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, left Old Trafford this summer as part of the deal to sign Marcos Rojo after two disappointing seasons with Manchester United thanks to a succession of injuries.
Back in Portugal, Nani has re-found his form at his new club by scoring five goals in 13 appearances and reports suggest he could make a return as early as January, something which Nani hasn’t categorically ruled out.
Speaking after Portugal’s friendly against Argentina last night when asked about a return to United, Nani said: “Why not? I went out to play more and get to my best, and it is an opportunity. We will see.”
Nani has previously spoken about returning to Manchester at the end of his loan spell and at the time said: “I don’t think about my return to Manchester.
“Right now I’m enjoying my time here [Sporting Lisbon] with people who like me and believe in my abilities.”
Nobody knows whether Nani has already played his last game in a United shirt but the winger is making sure he doesn’t close the door on a possible return just yet.
