Daley Blind has thanked Manchester United fans after being inundated with messages and vowed to come back stronger from his knee injury.
Speaking from a hospital bed with a large brace on his knee, Blind’s message comes soon after it was feared he would be out for six months.
Louis van Gaal was quoted by United’s official Twitter account as saying Blind would be out for up to six months when in fact he said the complete opposite.
At this stage, there won’t be any confirmation of a time-frame for Blind’s return until he has rested enough to have a full scan on his knee but by the sounds of it, the Dutch midfielder won’t be ruled out for anything as long as six months.
An initial prognosis of four to six weeks on the sidelines originally seemed like terrible news for Blind but after the mess up which suggested it could have been six months, four to six weeks doesn’t seem long at all.
